A Day at the Farm

We enjoyed a great day on the farm on Friday. Eight of us made the trip to Jeremiah Farm on John's Island. Casey Price was such a welcoming host to us. We definatly took the "fast track" on learning the ins and outs of goat farming. We started the day with a lesson on milking and changed gears quickly when we needed to make a bed for Heidi who was about to give birth. What an amazing site to see the birth of her two boys! Chris and David got a real workout mucking part of the barn; their muscles will be sore. And all along, Casey was flooding with information that will be invaluable.

We hope to be able to put our knowledge to use in Nicaragua by starting a goat farm to increase the local economy and thus keeping people in the rural communities instead of them fleaing to the city to find jobs.

Short-term Mission Trip to Nicaragua

Ever thought about going on a short-term mission trip? We are currently seeking people who would like to join us on a 10 day trip (approximately) to Jinotega, Nicaragua. Anyone with a servant heart is welcome to come regardless of age, skill or ability. A group from the Summerville Church of Christ has been going to the same location annually for 5 years. We will be working with Mision Para Cristo to help with any project that they need help with. Projects may include construction, visiting the local maternity house, schools, prisons, and medical and dental brigades.
